If you love food then Chilli Lime Deli, run by John Caffrey, is a sight for sore eyes. The Deli, located in Fleming Square, is packed full of quality food products, a good mix of traditional, local produce as well as produce from around the world.
John spent 21 years working mainly in engineering and quality assurance, but his passion for food led him to a change of career earlier this year when he took over Chilli Lime Deli. “Food has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy sharing my passion with others.” he comments.
The deli boasts a wide range of quality, international produce, including Italian, Greek, Oriental and Mexican, with a hot chilli sauce selection that is something else! John also believes that good quality, local produce is important and this is reflected in, amongst other things, his local cheese selection and speciality pies, even his olives are prepared locally. John also plans to introduce his own handmade chocolates very soon.
If you are planning a special meal or just want to try something different, John will always be happy to give advice. “Later this year, I plan to launch a newsletter with recipes, what’s new in store and customer contributions. So don’t forget to leave your email address next time you visit.” he says.
Gourmet food products can also make interesting gifts and as always John will be pleased to advise. Cheese boards and hampers will be available in plenty of time for Christmas.
